Advice To Salafīs Who Have Established Their Own Mosques And Centers | Shaykh Aḥmad Ibn Yaḥyá Al-Najmī
Questioner 1: If the Salafīs acquire a center or Mosque, what is the best way for them to organize themselves? Should they establish an Imām or establish consultation among themselves…
Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá al-Najmī: They should maintain consultation among themselves and contact the scholars like Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Āli al-Shaykh, the Minister [of Islāmic affairs]. They should call him and request from him those who might help them and they should consult him…And the final question?
Questioner 1: And how should the Salafīs organize themselves?
Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá al-Najmī: The matter of organization is easy. The matter of organization is simple. And what is best is for a center is that it is linked to the [Saudi] Ministry [of Islāmic affairs]. So they could become stronger. This is best.
Questioner 1: From the problems that are sometimes experienced, is that in some of these centers in America or in the west generally, they don’t have students of knowledge or anything similar to it so it might be that the majority of the community is upon the same level so if this is the case…
Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá al-Najmī:It would be best, according to their ability, to consult the scholars and call them; more specifically, Shaykh Ṣāliḥ [Āli al-Shaykh] and those people who have been granted responsibility under his authority and those who have a relationship with him until you can become stronger so that he might be your backbone [i.e. support you] so that perhaps Allāh will bring about benefit through you.
